Hey neighbor- I’m David

David Raskind isn’t a career politician—he’s a husband, a father of four, and a community builder who understands firsthand what families need to thrive.

David and his wife, Sara—a nurse practitioner and midwife in training—are raising their four children, ages 2, 7, 11, and 15, right here in Hollywood. Like so many families in our city, they care deeply about safe and clean neighborhoods and a community that puts residents first.

David grew up in a small town outside of Rochester, New York, where he was instilled with the values of community, personal responsibility, and looking out for your neighbor—principles that continue to guide him today.

He began his early career in software development and tech startups, where he led and oversaw operations and product development in fast-paced environments. This experience gave him a strong foundation in problem-solving, team leadership, and building systems that work.

Driven by a growing interest in health and community impact, David later pursued studies in Biology and Public Health—further strengthening his commitment to improving quality of life for others.

In 2013, David moved with his family to Hollywood, where he has now lived for over a decade and built deep roots in the community.

Together with Sara, David co-founded The Nurtury, a large, high-quality early childhood center serving infants through kindergarten. Over the past decade, they have built a trusted institution that supports local families, creates jobs, and provides a safe, nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.

Through his work, David has developed strong relationships across the community and has worked closely with local law enforcement and safety personnel to help ensure secure environments for children and families.

As the operator of a multi-million-dollar organization, David understands the importance of fiscal responsibility, smart decision-making, and delivering results without waste.

David is running for City Commission to bring this real-world experience to City Hall—with a focus on keeping neighborhoods safe, clean, and family-oriented, while ensuring that growth and development serve residents, not special interests.

For David, this campaign is about more than politics—it’s about community. It’s about protecting what makes Hollywood special and making sure it continues to be a place where families can thrive for generations to come.
