Hey neighbor- I’m David

David Raskind isn’t a career politician—he’s a husband, a father of four, and a community builder who understands firsthand what families need to thrive.

David and his wife, Sara—a nurse practitioner and midwife in training—are raising their four children, ages 2, 7, 11, and 15, right here in Hollywood Hills. Like so many families in our city, they care deeply about safe, clean neighborhoods and a community that keeps residents at the center.

David grew up in a small town outside of Rochester, New York, where he developed a strong sense of community, personal responsibility, and looking out for others—values that continue to guide him today.

He began his career in software development and tech startups, where he led operations and product development in fast-paced environments. This experience built a strong foundation in problem-solving, team leadership, and creating systems that work effectively.

Driven by a growing interest in health and community impact, David later pursued studies in Biology and Public Health—further strengthening his commitment to improving quality of life.

In 2013, David moved with his family to Hollywood, where he has spent over a decade building deep roots in the community.

Together with Sara, David co-founded The Nurtury, a trusted early childhood center serving local families. Over the years, they have built an organization that supports families, creates jobs, and provides a safe, nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.

Through his work, David has developed strong relationships across the community and has collaborated with local leaders and law enforcement to help support safe, secure environments for families.

As the operator of a multi-million-dollar organization, David understands the importance of fiscal responsibility, thoughtful decision-making, and delivering results that truly serve the community.

David is running for City Commission to bring this real-world experience to City Hall—with a collaborative, forward-thinking approach focused on strong neighborhoods, thoughtful growth, and keeping residents at the center of every decision. He is committed to working alongside fellow commissioners, city staff, and community leaders to build on the progress already made and continue moving Hollywood forward.
