Residents First.

Always.

I’m running for District 3 Commissioner to ensure our city puts residents first — with safe, clean, family-focused neighborhoods and leadership that delivers.

Why I’m

running

I’m running because District 3 needs leadership that puts residents and families first. I’m not a politician nor am I a political insider — I’m your neighbor. I’m a father and an entrepreneur who has spent years building organizations that serve families. When you see flooding unresolved, infrastructure declining, and neighborhoods ignored while massive development moves forward, it’s clear something is out of balance. We need leadership focused on protecting neighborhoods, fixing infrastructure, and making sure growth actually serves the people who live here.

Meet David

David Raskind isn’t a career politician—he’s a neighbor, a father, and a small-business owner who has spent years investing in the families and future of Hollywood. For the past many years, his work in education has been guided by one simple mission: creating communities and environments where families and children can thrive.

Through his work in the community and local organizations, David has worked closely with residents and seen firsthand the challenges families face—and how often city decisions overlook the people who actually live here. David is running for City Commissioner in District 3 to bring practical leadership, transparency, and a simple commitment to City Hall: put residents first and make sure Hollywood works for the families and neighborhoods that call it home.

Residents First Approach

I believe every decision at City Hall should start with one simple question: Is this good for the people who live here?

Putting residents first means making sure our neighborhoods, our families, and our voices are at the center of every decision — especially right here in District 3.

ON THE ISSUES

  • Families are at the heart of our community, and the decisions we make should reflect that. From safer streets to better parks and programs, we need to make Hollywood a place where families can thrive. When we support families, we build a stronger, more connected city for everyone.

  • Every resident deserves to feel safe — not just on paper, but in their everyday lives. From walking down the street at night to letting kids play outside, safety is about peace of mind. We need to focus on real, neighborhood-level safety so residents truly feel secure where they live.

  • A city should simply work — but too often, residents are left dealing with flooding, poor maintenance, and slow responses. Before we talk about big plans, we need to make sure the basics are handled properly. That means focusing on the everyday issues that impact quality of life in our neighborhoods.

  • Hollywood is growing, but growth should never come at the expense of the people who already live here. Our neighborhoods are what make this city special, and residents deserve a real voice in shaping their future. We need to ensure development is thoughtful, balanced, and respects the character of our community.

  • Residents deserve a city that is financially responsible, transparent, and focused on delivering real value. By managing resources wisely and investing in what truly matters, we can keep Hollywood affordable for families, retirees, and small businesses — without sacrificing the quality of services our community depends on.
